Mitton Hall is a stunning venue throughout the whole year, and we tend to find a lot of our couples who come to view Mitton do usually tend to have a summer wedding in mind, without even thinking of holding their wedding in winter.
We can’t deny that summer is a beautiful time of year to hold your wedding, flowers in full bloom, lush gardens, and the prospect of glorious sunshine.
However, more couples are deciding to choose the winter months to get wed, and we have found out a list of reasons why.
Winter is an incredibly romantic time of the year. More so, for beautiful wedding pictures. Vibrant colours, frosty grounds make for the perfect wedding photographs. As Mitton Hall is such a grand building with so much space inside, should the weather turn for the worse, you have the magnificent interior steeped in rich history and design, so there are photograph opportunities galore.
You have the pick of the bunch when it comes to winter floral. Succulents, amaryllis, ranunculus, orchids and roses and beautiful berries. We have a secret love for a stunning winter bouquet.
We spoke to legendary party starters DFC and asked why they think winter weddings are the way forward. Stephanie Powell (Events Manager) said’
“Its gets darker earlier, so easier to get the party started sooner.
With it being darker you can create a great atmosphere with mood lighting.
With it being cold outside, people tend to stay within the room, allowing you to command their attention more with hosting and artists.”
We spoke to Kimberley Anne from Kimberley Anne Bridal Boutique
I love a winter wedding. The atmosphere is so romantic with candles, Christmas trees and fairy lights everywhere. You can reflect this in a wedding dress whether you go for an embellished sparkly dress or a simplistic class look. As a winter bride, you can get away with sleeves or strapless, embellished or plain; the options are limitless. You can also have so much fun with accessories, from a diamanté belt to a long lace veil & fur shawl, you have so much choice.
Having a winter wedding is becoming increasingly popular with couples. There are plenty of advantages to this as the above shows, but one of the significant benefits of a winter wedding is the cost! Couples will tend to book a summer month over a winter month, not only because the demand for desirable dates is higher in summer, but some couples feel the warmer weather will also make for a better wedding day, whereas the winter months, you do tend to have more availability, and with more availability comes more flexibility! Having your Dream Wedding at Mitton Hall in the winter doesn’t mean you have to go over your budget! You can have your dream wedding at less cost.
